The Rapture of the Church
The Rapture of the Church

The seven certainties about the Rapture!

Him those who sleep. However, you still declare by word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them which are asleep. For the Lord himself, given its slogan, heard the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive, those who remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to
First conviction: the dead are not dead
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God, through Jesus, will bring with him those who sleep" (v.14).
This assurance consists of three parts:
a) In the New Testament, the resurrection refers mainly to the body
The "sleep" of believers or the expression "those who sleep" refer to the bodies of Christians (Acts 13.36-37; 8.10-11,23 Romans, 1 Corinthians 15.35-46). The Bible does not teach the "sleep" of the soul!
For example, the rich man and Lazarus, after he died, were respectively in the realm of the dead (Hades) and in paradise, but absolutely aware (Luke 16:19-31).
The body, which left at death, "sleeps", but the spirit of the believer - his personality, his being, his conscience - is with Christ from the moment of death.
The apostle Paul was totally convinced of this reality, why they wrote: "... having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better" (Phil. 1:23).
The Lord Jesus Christ says: "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, shall live: and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die ..." (John 11.25-26). In John 8:51 He also stresses: "... if anyone keeps my word will not see death forever."
While the body sleeps, the spirit of the believer in Jesus is still living.
In 2 Corinthians 5.8 is written that "leaving the body" means both "at home with the Lord."
In other words, once we leave the body with Christ.
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. "
In 1 Thessalonians 4:16 we read about the "dead in Christ." Since Jesus was resurrected and lives, they also live all that sleep in Him.
Spiritually they are in Christ and live with Christ ("For our citizenship is in heaven" - (Philippians 3:20), they will be physically resurrected.
b) The hope of being with Christ
But the reality is even more wonderful, and this is also part of the assurance of salvation and the rapture. As Christians, we do not say by chance: "The Lord took this as a brother or sister." It really is true that a Christian is sought for Jesus, while a non-believer is taken by death. The Church of Jesus did not see death: "We will not, brethren, have you ignorant concerning them which are asleep, lest you entristecerdes as others who have no hope" (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
The others are out (v.12), are not in Christ!
Verse 14 addresses of those who sleep in Jesus: "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God, through Jesus, bring in Him those who sleep." This becomes clearer in the New Revised and Corrected: "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." Christians who died were put to sleep by Jesus, as a mother or a father put his children to sleep at night. This means in practice: when a believer dies, he is sought for Jesus, and so did not see death.
I am convinced that the Lord is present in the death of each of His children, to take them out to the Si
c) Ensuring that the dead will come with Christ
The promise that God "through Jesus, will bring with him those who sleep" is a revolutionary statement. It is important to note that there is written: "He will bring," but "bring in your company", or "will bring with Him."
The Lord communicates to the apostle - and thus the whole Church - the dead in Christ will not be harmed in any way, but to have the primacy.
When you return, Jesus will bring with Him those who have died, because they are already with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:14-15), and resurrect their dead bodies in the first place (v.16).
Only then will happen to the transformation of believers still alive, and then they will be caught up together to meet the Lord (v.17).
Let's look at verse 14 in two other versions:
"Since we believe that Jesus died and then came back to life, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him all Christians who have died" (The Living Bible).
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him" (Revised and Corrected Edition).
Therefore, it simply means that Jesus brought to His coming are the disembodied spirits of the dead in Christ. First, their bodies will be resurrected and gathered to the spirits.
After living believers will be transformed and the whole Church will be taken to heaven with Jesus.
The basis for this hope of resurrection was created exclusively by Jesus through His death and resurrection. It is the strength and power of the resurrection. Now, what matters is whether we believe in His death and resurrection (v.14). Jesus once asked His disciples: "Who do you say (or believe) that I am?" (Matt. 16:15). Peter gave the only answer: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (v.16).
In your opinion, who is Jesus?
Second certainty: the Lord will return personally
"... For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven ..." (1 Thessalonians 4:16). The resurrection / rapture will be the time when the Lord Jesus leave His throne in heaven and will come in person to meet His church to take her to the house of the Father Like a bridegroom goes to meet his bride,
Salvador will meet those who purchased by His blood and lead to His glory.
The Lord did not send an angel or any other envoy to do it, He will come personally. So if literally fulfill the promise of John 14.3: "And when I go and prepare a place for you, come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also." As He saved us in person and died on the cross for us, as He himself was prepared in place - He will return in person to get us to Himself, so that we are where He is.
In numerous passages of the New Testament we are called to wait for Jesus to come at any time (for example, in 1 Cor 11:26, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, Hebrews 10:37).
Third certainty: the watchword
"For the Lord himself, given his word of command, heard the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16). The New Revised and Corrected says: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first." According to my understanding, the Lord himself will give this slogan, for He is the Sovereign to whom all the heavenly hosts obey.
This is indicated in the following passages:
"Verily, verily I say, the hour cometh and now is, where all the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live" (John 5:25). Jesus the Good Shepherd, also said: "My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life shall never perish, and no one can snatch them out of My hand" (John 10.27-28 .) Already a sheep from the flock of Jesus? The answer to this question is of crucial importance in relation to eternity. You already have a personal relationship with Jesus, to have received Him into your life (Jn 1:12)? You can say with certainty that a child of God?
If you can not, we ask that you take this decisive step today!
• When the Lord Jesus raised Lazarus, we read that he cried giving an order: "... (Jesus) cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth!" (Jn 11:43). We imagine the following: the course of time, millions of people believing in the Lord Jesus slept, or died. Then comes the time of the rapture. The Lord is risen from His throne and cries: "Come out!" Then the graves were opened, and none of which were purchased by His blood will be left behind.
No matter if their bodies were burned, if contaminated by nuclear radiation died or are in the depths of the seas - He is the Creator, He will resurrect and lead them to meet their spirits / souls.
• In Psalm 33.9 is written about Him, the Son of the Most High: "For He spoke, and it was done: he commanded and it stood fast" (compare also Isaiah 55.4).
This "slogan" of the Lord comes from the military language. She is like the voice command of a general calling his troops for battle. At the rapture, the heavenly General will command the troops who fight for Him, that should be faced with all the spiritual armor (Ephesians 6.11ss), to leave the battlefield on earth and come to Him for His glory
Fourth certainty: the voice of the archangel
"For the Lord himself, given his word of command, heard the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16). The designation "archangel" applies only to an angel in the Bible, that is, to Michael: "Yet Michael the archangel ..." (Jd 9). Michael means "Who is like God?"
This angel is one of the most important in the hierarchy (Dan. 10:13).
At the time of Daniel, Michael fought a prince of the demons in the heavenly world and Gabriel came to help, so that it could confirm the Daniel that his prayers had been answered (Daniel 10.12-14 and 21).
rebuke you! " (Jd 9). In the end, Michael and his hosts of angels will fight against the armies of Satan's demons, the win and will launch on the earth that no longer have access to heaven (Revelation 12.7-9).
Why do you hear the voice of the archangel Michael at the time of the rapture? Why and what he will raise his voice - after word of the Lord's command for the rapture?
This Archangel intervenes especially for the people of Israel: "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince, the defender of the children of thy people ..." (Dan. 12:1).
We must remember that at the time the Lord Jesus Christ gave the order to the resurrection and the rapture of His Church, the dispensation of grace will end.
So the "body of Christ" is complete, then the Pentecost in reverse (the withdrawal of the Holy Spirit) will take place and the church will be taken to heaven.
After that will be restored again a kind of "state of the Old Testament" - the connection between the 69th and 70th week of years of Daniel.
true, until You judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? " (Rev 6:9-10). Based on my knowledge, they do not belong to the Church, as true disciples of Jesus did not ask for revenge. Rather. When he died stoned by the Pharisees and scribes, Stephen cried: 'Lord Jesus, receive my spirit! Then, kneeling, crying with a loud voice, Lord, do not hold this sin against them! "With these words he fell asleep" (Acts 7.59-60). The conditions typical of the Old Testament during the Great Tribulation, also remember the two witnesses, who will make miracles, shall smite the earth with all plagues and fire will come out of their mouths to devour enemies (Rev. 11.3-6; compare also Luke 9.54-55).
The Church of Jesus was a mystery, she was placed by God between the 69th and 70th week of years of Daniel. After she is taken away, will begin 70 weeks of years (linked to 69 weeks) of Daniel 9. While the Church is the house of the heavenly Father, the world and Israel will enter the Great Tribulation. Thus, the Jewish people will again fully to the center of God's action. Therefore, the angelic prince of Israel come back into action (as in Daniel), and raise your voice. For what?
dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end, will scan the many, and knowledge shall be increased ... Many shall be purified, made white and tried, but the wicked shall do wickedly and none of them understand; The voice of the archangel is also generally understood as a conference call meeting and gathering of the saints of the Old Testament.
Currently many Israelis have reached the highest knowledge that exists: they believed in Jesus Christ, their Messiah!
And the Lord always adds more Jews to his Church, as appears by the following account:
(...) Five people were baptized in October. Shalom and Now, a young Israeli couple and two children have become through his neighbor, who attends church regularly.
"It's something special," writes John Pex, "when young Jews recognize their Messiah - especially when a couple turns and is baptized."
(...) The Bible Society bookshop in Tel Aviv is very well located and is visited by many Israelis. Andy Ball, its director, reports the example of an Orthodox woman who bought a New Testament in the shop, she wanted to know the Christian faith at first hand. One government official wanted an Old Testament in Arabic to someone else and on that occasion bought a New Testament itself. The store also supplies other biblical trading houses, universities and hotels in New Testaments, Christian books and articles ...
(Amzi 3/98)
The prophet Daniel was commanded: "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end, will scan the many, and knowledge shall increase." What kind of knowledge shall be increased? Answer: More and more Jews will recognize that Jesus is the Messiah. We have observed the start it today.
The number of members of the Judeo-Messianic Church multiplied by 10 in the last 30 years!
But back to the voice of the archangel: we can imagine that Michael will follow the Lord when He comes for His Church. The Living Bible says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a powerful cry, with the vibrant cry of the archangel and with the powerful clarion call of God" (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Evidently the Lord had no need for such monitoring, but it seems that the archangel Michael is the warrior who acts in the air against Satan (Daniel 10), and how Israel will come on the scene again, the archangel battling intervene in favor of the covenant people of God
The Rapture of the Church of Jesus (every saved person, whether Jew or Gentile, will be removed from the earth) lead a coup sudden, dramatic and unimaginable in human history that will be left behind. This revolutionary event will trigger a number of other subsequent events.
We want to highlight one:
A revival break out in Israel
Jesus). " When the fullness of the Gentiles (nations) have entered into the "body of Christ" he is taken to heaven. Then finish the hardening of Israel, his blindness eventually.
So many Jews will come to know Daniel 12.4, understanding that Jesus is their Messiah. It is very likely that in the days after the rapture thousands and thousands of Jews will turn to Jesus, as has happened in the early church in Acts. Then the seed will sprout and born of the Gospel spread orally and in print by Messianic Jews, who at that time also have been caught. Those who are left behind, family, friends, colleagues, etc.., Seek Bibles, Christian books and other publications left by raptured. They will remember what they read and heard of biblical commentaries and sermons on hope for the Messiah.
That hope has now germinated in the hearts of many Jews.
After the Rapture will also appear in the 144,000 sealed of Israel (Rev. 7.4-8) and the two witnesses (Rev. 11.3ss). More and more Jews to convert and bring the Gospel to their own people and the Gentiles.
In this the Jews will have a big advantage, because they have been scattered all over the world and dominate many different languages.
But, to be exact, we should also say that not all Jews to convert. Many, especially those linked to the government, will make a covenant with the Antichrist, ie, the Roman leader [European] (Daniel 9.26-27, Rev. 13.1; Is 28.14-16). When he speaks of that time, Daniel also says that many will be purified (will become), but many remain wicked will understand that many, but many do not understand (Daniel 12:10). Only a remnant will be saved, as clearly seen in other passages of Scripture (eg, in Romans 9:27, Ezekiel 20:33-38). But behind all this believing remnant will stand the archangel Michael as the prince of Israel.
In rapture he will raise his voice, because your time has come to act on behalf of the remnant of Israel.
As we have seen, many Israelis today are believing in their Messiah, Jesus Christ. Does the Lord is preparing His people for the Rapture and the Great Tribulation?
Would he do it because the time is already very advanced?
Fifth sure: the trump of God
"For the Lord himself, given his word of command, heard the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16). The trumpet of God mentioned here is the same as 1 Corinthians 15:52: "... a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. The trumpet shall sound, the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
This trumpet call of God all the saints of all time to the house of the Father
Why is it called the "last trump"? Because then the dispensation of grace will end. The announcement of the Gospel dispensation of grace began with a "trumpet" and end with a trumpet. Why she started with a "trumpet"? Because we can say that the preaching of the Gospel "repercussions", "resonated" or was "trumpeted". For example, the phrase: "Because of you passed on the word of the Lord ..." (1 Thessalonians 1:8), literally means, "because you trumpeted the word of the Lord."
In Romans 10:18 it is written: "But I say, Have they not heard? Yes, of course: For all the world made their voice heard, and their words to the ends of the world."
The Gospel trumpet calling to salvation in Jesus Christ resonated for almost two thousand years. Soon you will hear the last trumpet, the Gospel will be preached, the dispensation of grace will end and the church is complete, its fullness has been reached.
The Church is called to go to the house of the Father
What do think the Thessalonians, who were largely Jews, when Paul wrote about the trumpet? The Apocalypse did not yet exist, so they still knew nothing of the seven trumpets of judgment described therein. So certainly they thought the trumpet of salvation Numbers 10.2-10. In this excerpt from the Old Testament are mentioned two trumpets were played on certain occasions. The order of God said: "Make two trumpets of silver, of beaten work shalt thou make to; will serve you for convocares the congregation and for the departure from the camp" (Num. 10.2). On the one hand, therefore, these silver trumpets were played to summon, call, join and meet, and on the other side to break camp and leave. This has no prophetic sense? Call (call) = preaching the Gospel to come to Jesus ("many are called ..."), until the fullness is gathered.
Departure = resurrection / rapture to the house of the Father
Interestingly, these trumpets were to be made of silver. That silver was used for this purpose? The shekel of silver redemption [salvation] (Ex 30.12-13). These shekels were given as ransom for the life of the Israelites, so that there was no plague among them.
It also reminds us of the 30 pieces of silver that were paid by the arrest of Jesus, who won our salvation on the cross.
The different ways of playing the trumpets meant, inter alia, the following:
a) When the two trumpeters sounded so normal, it served to call and gathering of all the congregation at the door of the tabernacle (Num. 10.3) = a call to salvation.
b) When the trumpeters sounded the alarm, strongly, as a "warning signal" that indicates the order to leave.
The last sound of the trumpet was the signal to gather belongings and leave = a wonderful illustration of the rapture.
Now the trumpet still resonates to call of the Gospel and gathering. But when you played the last trump of God as a "warning signal" for the rapture at the same time this will be a signal for the gathering of Israel, because then the time has come to your rescue.
your enemies. "
After the rapture will come the oppressor, the antichrist, but remember the Lord of Israel and ultimately save his people.
a great trumpet will sound, and those who were lost to the land of Assyria and those who are banished to the land of Egypt will make come and worship the LORD in the holy mount of Jerusalem. "
For the reasons already mentioned and we add, the trump of God to the Rapture, according to my understanding, is not equivalent to the seven trumpets of Revelation (chapters 8-11).
• The trumpet for the rapture of God announces the completion of the age of grace. This is the trumpet of salvation. In her sound we have salvation, forgiveness and victory of the Gospel.
It resonates particularly for the Church, but also for Israel, in the sense that then the remainder will be gathered.
• The trumpets played by angels in Revelation, however, are all the trumpets of judgment upon the world of nations that rejected Christ.
In addition, twenty-four elders (the Church, see Rev. 4.9-11) are already in the sky at the seventh trumpet and herald the return of Jesus and His kingdom (Rev. 11:15-17ß).
• It is interesting to note that other translations of a Tesalonisences 4.16, for example Corrected and Revised Edition, says: "... the Lord himself shall descend from heaven ... with the trump of God ...". This means that the Lord himself - as the High Priest of His Church - will play the trumpet, because it is in His hand. Himself calls His home. Himself will give the order and sign for the withdrawal of his Church. According to my understanding, this is also the most likely, because the trumpet is called a "trumpet of God" and Jesus Christ is God (Titus 2:13, 1 Jn 5:20). Why not be the Savior who would save His call? Indeed, in the Old Testament only the priests could blow the trumpets. And Jesus is the High Priest, not an angel either. The seven trumpets of judgment (Rev. 8.6-9,12; 11.15) are wielded and touched by angels.
Therefore, there must be a difference between the trumpet of the rapture and the seven trumpets of judgment.
Sixth certainty: the resurrection and rapture
This is not a general resurrection. Only the dead in Christ and alive in Christ will be raised or processed. All others will remain dead in their graves until the Day of Judgment. What is described here is a selective resurrection from the dead and really relates only to those who are in Christ.
and those who have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. " And when Jesus came down the mountain with His disciples after His transfiguration, He told them something they greatly admired, and that until then they had not heard. asking each other who would be resurrected from the dead? " (Mark 9.9-10).
Jesus was the first who rose from the dead (Acts 26.23; Colossians 1:18, 1 Cor 15:20). 1 Corinthians 15:23 also mentions this: "Each one, however, in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward they that are Christ's at His coming." This statement, in connection with 1 Thessalonians 4:16, explains that all who are in Christ will rise from the dead. This is called the "first resurrection" (Revelation 20.5-6).
Other people, who were not in Jesus, who did not belong to Him by saving faith and thus did not have a personal relationship with Him will be resurrected one thousand years later and then go to hell (Rev. 20:11-15).
In the first resurrection / rapture the Lord Jesus will His throne, and from heaven (the Father's house), will appear in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). He will not come visibly on earth, but remain in the upper atmosphere. The spirits / souls of those who slept The accompany him as probably the archangel Michael. So first the bodies will be resurrected from the dead in Christ. Soon after, the bodies of those still alive will be transformed. Then the Church will be raptured collectively to meet the Lord in the air, the clouds, and He will take His bride to the house of the Father The Church will then have left the earth and its place in John 14:1-6 will be fulfilled.
All this naturally happen in a split second (comp. 1 Cor 15.51-53).
Seventh certainty: to be forever with the Lord
"... And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Comfort ye-ye therefore one another with these words" (1 Thessalonians 4:17-18). This guarantee: "... we ever be with the Lord," is an eternal comfort above all that is fleeting in this world ... Thereafter, no more subject to death for any child of God. All the sorrows of the past, all the miseries and temptations, all questions answered and all will be forgotten by this fact: "... shall we ever be with the Lord." "We will be forever with the Lord" means that the Church will always be where Jesus is, she will participate in all His divine wealth.
Then will be fulfilled that is written in Titus 2:13:
"... Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."
"Looking forward to that time when we see his glory - the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ" (The Living Bible).
But who does not have Jesus falls into a bottomless pit of despair. He who loses Jesus has blessed and eternal hope. Precisely in this passage of the resurrection and the rapture, the Bible shows us that there will be people who will be in (1 Thessalonians 4:16) and people who are out (v.12), there will be people full of hope and hopeless people (v.13) people that will be forever with the Lord and His people forever separated (v.17), comforted people and people without comfort (v. 18). He who is not in Christ has no relationship with God, such a person is "out" without hope, because it has no home.
A person without Jesus will always remain without consolation and without peace.
How can you earn the right to live in the house of the heavenly Father, to acquire the hope of "being forever with the Lord" and also to transmit such comfort others? Deciding for Jesus Christ and His saving work accomplished on the cross - for you also. If you accept this by faith, 1 Thessalonians 4.14-18 also actually be fulfilled in your life. So, decide completely for Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God! The Eternal Word of God tells you in Job 11:13 and 18: "If dispuseres the heart and stretch out her hands unto God ... Thou shalt feel safe, because there is hope."
